Meet Emo, an AI-powered robotic face that can mirror your facial expressions

Built by Columbia University's engineers, the robotic face is capable of anticipating smiles 840 milliseconds in advance. That means, it knows when you're about to smile even before your lips curl.

Emo can respond to your emotions thanks to the 26 actuators beneath its silicone coat

Its eyes are made out of high-resolution cameras, which capture your facial reactions before quickly processing a mirrored response.

Emo offers immense potential for use in communication, education, and therapy

The robotic face has been learning human expressions through numerous videos.

By learning from human expressions, Emo offers nuanced responses, marking a significant leap in empathetic robotics.
