This Virtual Street Food Festival Has Limited-Edition Food Collabs & Delivers To Your Home
OMG, sooo cool! :D
FOODIES, rejoice!! :DDD
Tiger Beer is launching Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival – the world’s first fully-immersive, 3D, online street food festival experience.
Tiger Beer is known for regularly hosting large-scale street food festivals, complete with games, activities, live performances, and a great selection of street food. But this year, they are taking the street food festival experience to the next level: from the streets, and onto your screens.
What's really amazing about this street food festival is that it's unlike any other "virtual festival". You'll literally get to explore a whole virtual world designed to showcase the best of street food!
Starting from 6 November, the Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival will be happening 11am to 9pm every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the end of the month. The best part is that the festival is free to attend. You don't even need to download anything to join the fun - just open a browser on your smartphone or laptop to explore the festival.
You can register for it here. Be the first 10,000 to sign up and earn a free 320ml can of Tiger Crystal, redeemable with any purchase from a vendor at the festival.
1. You get to customise your own 3D avatar and interact with other festival-goers in real-time
The first thing you do in the festival is create a 3D avatar to represent yourself in the virtual world. You can customise your gender, hairstyle, and clothing to perfect your look – it's like creating your own character for an online RPG.
Once that's done, you'll land at Street Food Central.
This is where everything happens. You can interact with other festival-goers via chat, play games to win rewards, find exclusive Happy Hour promotions, and discover one of the virtual food streets.
2. Explore and order all kinds of yummy street food at Kuala Lumpur Street, Selangor Street, or Penang Street
Each virtual food street is filled with an ever-changing array of vendors based in these localities, serving up menus created just for the Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival. Throughout November, the festival will feature a total of 88 different vendors!
Anyone can take a walk through these streets to explore some of the best street food vendors Malaysia has to offer. Just walk up to one of the stalls, and tap on it to browse through their menus and uncover their limited-edition dishes.
If you stay in selected areas like Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Penang, it gets even better. As long as you are within a 15km radius of the vendor, you can order these delights to your doorstep while exploring the festival. Thanks to DeliverEat, the official delivery partner for the festival, you can also track your food orders.
We ordered some belacan fried chicken wings, jiu hu char, and kiap pao, a.k.a. mantou buns stuffed with shredded pork, and OMG the food was damn sedap weiiiii!
The funny thing is that we never even heard of the restaurant Tau Ke before, and we would've never gotten the chance to try it if not for this food festival. Plus, everything arrived within 45 minutes and came nicely packed - they even separated all the condiments so the dishes wouldn't get soggy.
3. Don't miss out on limited edition dishes and special food collabs
You'll also want to keep an eye out for some of the brand new, limited edition creations infused with Tiger Beer or Tiger Crystal, and even crossover collaborations with other vendors, e.g. the ‘Hainanburg’, a collaboration by Yut Kee x myBurgerLab. Just look for "Tiger Exclusive Dish" when you're scrolling through the menu.
Want something to pair with all this delicious street food? You can order Tiger Beer or Tiger Crystal directly from vendors, either as an add-on or as part of a combo. Plus, combo meals come with a free set of Tiger Street Food chopsticks, with two exclusive designs to collect.
Before checking out, don't forget to use any promo codes you have to get extra discounts or freebies.
4. Play mini-games to earn promo codes and stand a chance to win free cartons of Tiger Crystal
Back at Street Food Central, you can play two games hosted by familiar faces – YouTuber Lizz Chloe (or Dumpling Soda) and Harvinth Skin.
Lizz Chloe's game, The Tiger Beer Hunt, will make you race around Street Food Central collecting hidden bottles of Tiger Beer before the 60-second timer runs out.
The Tiger Crystal Mountain Climber Challenge, hosted by Harvinth Skin, will test your reflexes with an adrenaline-pumping mountain climb. Dodge obstacles, snowballs, and Yetis while you collect bottles of ice-cold Tiger Crystal on your race to the top.
Each day, the first 100 people to collect all eight bottles in The Tiger Beer Hunt will win a promo code for RM5 off any F&B purchase at the festival.
For The Tiger Crystal Mountain Climber Challenge, the first 88 people to score 300 points each day will win a promo code for RM5 off any F&B purchase at the festival. The three players with the highest scores at the end of November will each win a 24-can carton of Tiger Crystal.
5. Save RM30 with the 'Happy Hour' promotion when you buy Tiger Beer or Tiger Crystal between 3pm to 5pm
Another cool thing you'll find at Street Food Central is the virtual Drinkies Bar. Here, you can order chilled Tiger Beer to be delivered right to your home in just a few clicks. From 3pm to 5pm, you'll even get an RM30 discount when you purchase at least RM150 of Tiger Beer or Tiger Crystal.
6. Overwhelmed by all the food choices? KL Foodie has got you covered with each week's top 10 picks!
If you're not sure what food to order, be sure to visit KL Foodie's character at Street Food Central. Each week, he will show you a list of 10 must-try dishes – some are crowd favourites or hidden gems, while others are limited-edition creations exclusive to the festival.
To kick off the Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival, Malaysian hip hop artist Namewee will be beaming in all the way from Taiwan for an exclusive live performance
