The amendment to the birthday is for the next five years

The Prime Minister’s Department had issued a statement on Wednesday, declaring their approval for the amendment and citing the reason behind changing the official birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V, who is 47 years old.

The reason behind the amendment is that the first Saturday in June for 2017, 2018 and 2019 falls during Ramadan

"With this amendment, the birthday celebration of His Highness Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V can be celebrated together with the public according to the scheduled events," the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Department said.
