This Is The New Song That All Students And Teachers Must Sing During School Assembly

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has issued a new directive on 8 May to all state education director to inform them that all students and academicians will have to sing the new 'Aku Negaraku' song during school assembly.

The MOE stated that the songs must be sung in the order as follows:
1. Negaraku
2. Official state song
3. Official school song
4. Aku Negaraku

This initiative will impact about five million students and 400,000 teachers in public schools nationwide.

This was revealed by education director-general Tan Sri Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof, who launched the song in SMK Damansara Utama on Tuesday, 23 May.

"The addition of this contemporary beat song is expected to inject a positive spirit and instil patriotism among students," Khair said, as reported by Harian Metro.

"It carries the message to love your country. The ministry is confident that 'Aku Negaraku' will be well received by everyone in school, especially students," he said, adding that students across the country should appreciate and understand the meaning of the song lyrics and put them into practice.
