International Tabletop Day is just around the corner

On the first Saturday in June, gamers unite for International Tabletop Day. This day is an opportunity to formally recognise the movement and the healthy sense of competition and sportsmanship it promotes. The goal is to bring people together at the table to play against each other and enjoy the camaraderie of tabletop gaming.

To celebrate International Tabletop Day, Malaysia's leading tabletop gaming group, KakiTabletop, is hosting the country's biggest analogue gaming convention at Great Eastern Mall on 1 and 2 June.

The event will feature all four main tabletop gaming genres: board games, miniature games, role-playing games, and trading card games, each with its designated section. While entry to the event is free and no tickets are necessary, some workshops and sessions will require pre-registration and a small fee.

Here are some of the tabletop games you can look forward to playing during the two-day celebration:

1. Board games for the entire family

Attendees can enjoy a variety of board games with the help of Game Masters. Vivae Games Ampang will offer a selection of modern board games for everyone to play, experience, and purchase. You can expect titles like Dungeon Madness & Mayhem, That Sound Game, Mooncake Master, Wok & Roll, Durian Dash, and more!

Meanwhile, Akida will be showcasing their locally designed and manufactured bespoke board gaming tables.

2. Get a new perspective at the Miniatures section

Plastics & Tactics will highlight various aspects of the hobby, including painting, lore, and wargaming, while Naga Minis will showcase their latest catalogue of Malaysian-designed miniatures.

There will also be painting workshops with guidance from Paint Masters.

3. Go on an adventure with the Role-Playing section

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime, where you can save cats, rescue the world, and vanquish your foes. The event will feature a variety of RPGs hosted by Game Masters from Here Be Dragons and Nightshade Tavern.

Sessions are beginner-friendly, with options for pre-booking or walk-ins.

4. Discover your favourite card game at the Trading Card Game section
