Malaysian Comedian Ronny Chieng Honoured With Official 'Ronny Chieng Day' In Oahu
27 July has been declared the official Ronny Chieng Day.
Malaysian comedian and actor Ronny Chieng was recently honoured with an official 'Ronny Chieng Day' on 27 July in Oahu, Hawaii

The Johorian, who grew up in Singapore and the US, made the announcement on his social media pages yesterday, 29 July.
Oahu's mayor, Rick Blangiardi, declared 27 July as the official Ronny Chieng Day "in deep appreciation for his excellence in multi-cultural comedy and the arts and his unwavering commitment to embracing the beauty, depth, and experience of multiracial cultures".

Chieng lived in Oahu for a while during the filming of his comedy-drama series, Doogie Kamehāloha, M.D., and has called Hawaii a "safe haven" for him and his wife
During his speech, Chieng promised to always give more than he takes from Hawaii as he gradually becomes a part of the ohana.
"I hope with this proclamation, I can go from 'grateful guest' in Hawaii to a 'member of the ohana' here," he stated.

In addition to hosting the popular US TV show, The Daily Show and recording his own Netflix comedy specials, Chieng has acted in films such as Crazy Rich Asians, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Five Rings, and, most recently, Kung Fu Panda 4.
