Each of the actors shared sweet anecdotes about Perry.
The cast members of Friends are paying tribute to their co-star, Matthew Perry, who passed away in October at the age of 54
Perry, renowned for his role as Chandler Bing on the beloved sitcom, was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home, The New York Times reported.
Friends stars, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc have each shared heartfelt messages on their personal Instagram accounts in remembrance of Perry.
Here's what each of them said:
Courteney Cox
Cox shared a clip from Friends in which Monica and Chandler are trying to hide their relationship from Ross, played by David Schwimmer. The actress also provided some backstory about what it was like to film with Perry.
"In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind."
David Schwimmer
Schwimmer posted a throwback photo of himself and Perry, describing it as "one of my favourite moments with you."
He wrote, "Now it makes me smile and grieve at the same time."
Jennifer Aniston
Aniston, who played Rachel, posted a black-and-white photo of her and Perry laughing together, writing, "Oh boy this one has cut deep… Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I've never experienced before."
In the same post, the actress also shared a text message between them in which Perry said he loved making Aniston laugh and a clip of their emotional goodbye in the Friends series finale.
Lisa Kudrow
Kudrow, who portrayed Phoebe on the show, shared a throwback photo of herself with Perry.
"Shot the pilot, 'Friends Like Us', got picked up then immediately, we were at the NBC Upfronts. Then… You suggested we play poker AND made it so much fun while we initially bonded. Thank you for that," she recalled in the caption, expressing gratitude to Perry for the good times they had throughout their Friends journey.
Matt LeBlanc
On Instagram, LeBlanc posted show stills of Joey and Chandler together, as well as a behind-the-scenes photo of the main cast embracing.
The actor concluded his tribute with a comedic reference to the show, writing: "Spread your wings and fly brother you're finally free. Much love. And I guess you're keeping the 20 bucks you owe me."
The five co-stars of Friends had previously issued a joint statement days after Perry's death was first announced
"We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."
