This Mall's Choice Of Festive Decorations Has Netizens Scratching Their Heads In Confusion
Two-in-one holidays. :P
This year, the celebrations for Christmas and Chinese New Year are pretty close to each other, with those celebrating both having to plan ahead.
It was especially true for this mall in Sabah, seen fusing both celebrations into one very unique decor.

In a viral TikTok posted by @iammidong, the video shows a scene from Suria Sabah shopping mall, with a red theme pertinent to Chinese New Year celebrations, but fused with a few Christmas tree sculptures and cut-outs.
The caption wrote, "Selamat Gong Xi Christmas," and the video's background music alternates between a few CNY songs and Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas.
Since it was posted, the video has garnered over 600,000 views and 99,800 likes.
The video was seen panning from the Christmas tree sculptures set in the centre of what seems like a Chinese New Year stage installation at first glance

Just like us, some netizens were confused by the decorations done by the mall
A user commented, "This is like Santa Claus came to town on a lion dance," while another user said, "If it's like this, then Santa will probably be putting limes in the Christmas stockings."

Meanwhile, other netizens were impressed by the mall's cost-efficient and environmentally friendly decoration choices.
