On 18 February, local fashion brand Bulan Bintang held their first fashion show showcasing their 2023 Hari Raya collection

The event was done at a large scale outside of KL Tower with the tagline "Bulan Bintang Takes The Sky". The fashion show opened with performances by local girl group, DOLLA, and was hosted by local actresses Nabila Huda and Sherry Alhadad.

The brand ambassadors, whom amongst them were actress Daiyan Trisha, and actors Nadhir Nasar and Beto Kusyairy, were also modelling pieces from Bulan Bintang's new Raya collection down the runway.

Bulan Bintang not only broke the national record for most drones used in a light show, but also became the first local brand to perform a light show at such a scale

According to the Instagram post by Bulan Bintang founder, Azzim Zahid Azmi (@meripergibulat), the brand is the first of Malaysian labels to carry out a light show at such a scale, with previous brands being Disney and Cartier. The brand was assisted by a drone team all the way from the UK to make the performance possible.

Azzim also expressed his gratitude for the astounding performance and his appreciation towards his team, his drone team, and the audience for the immense support shown during the show.

"Yesterday, history was made for us at Bulan Bintang. The team from the UK came to do a drone show at our fashion show. We are the first ever local brand that has ever done this in Malaysia. 350 drones to break the Malaysian record. I'm beyond proud. Alhamdulillah," his tweet wrote.

The drones formed various images, from the brand's logo, to silhouettes of the baju melayu, baju kurung and a UFO

Azzim spent the first few years of his business as an online store before opening his first boutique in Bangi in April 2021. To date, the boutique has expanded to Ukay Boulevard, Melaka, Alor Setar, and Sungai Petani.

Bulan Bintang features classic baju melayu and baju kurung styles in vibrant colours and premium materials, fit for every body type and skin tone.

Congratulations on the achievement, Azzim!

Last year, a contestant from the Mrs World pageant also broke the national record for her dress, which was decorated with 10,000 five sen coins:
