'Malaysian Dump Site' Creates Safe Space For People To Release Their Struggles And Connect
People can also leave comments to support others.
Sometimes all we need is a safe space.
A place that's free of judgement, expectation, or just a listening ear.
What started as a friend lending support to someone who needed a shoulder to lean on soon turned into a platform for anyone who's facing struggles of their own.
Malaysian Dump Site is an Instagram page where you can drop your stories — be it struggles, happy or sad moments, disappointments, confessions, etc, without fear of judgement.

"A few months ago, a friend of mine was going through a difficult time, but he sort of kept it to himself. After much persuasion, he finally spoke up and let it go."
"Right after that first experience of speaking up, we would constantly have a good session where he would share some of his struggles and experience in whatever he's been doing, and he'd find a sense of relief after," said the founder of the Instagram page.
After a few 'lepak sessions', his friend jokingly called him a dump site. "This got me thinking: What if there were a safe space where people could 'dump' their stories... and find support?"
That led him to start Malaysian Dump Site, a place where people can share their stories anonymously.

In a conversation with SAYS, the founder said the main objective is to provide a platform where people can share their experiences, as well as raise awareness related to mental health and break the stigma
Sometimes all you need is to know you're not alone, and this place gives you that.
In this space, you'll find stories from anonymous people on some of the many struggles they are facing.
People are free to leave comments on the stories to encourage, connect, and lend their support to 'dumpers'.
