You don't actually have to but in case you want to.

If you are looking for ways to clean up your nether regions, there are several methods available in Malaysia.
Here's a list of the different ways you can groom your 'hoo-ha' or 'member', and some places where you can get them done:
1. Waxing

Let's start with the basic ones. Waxing is a common hair removal method that pulls the hair out from the follicle.
There are two types: soft wax and hard wax. Soft wax is applied with a waxing spatula then removed with a muslin strip. For hard wax, it's thicker and is removed on its own once it hardens, without any strip.
Soft wax is usually suited for larger or less sensitive areas, such as arms, legs, and armpits, as it adheres to the skin a bit more. So on top of removing hair, it kind of acts as an exfoliant because it removes layers of dead skin.
Hard wax is generally used for sensitive areas, such as the bikini line, as it only attaches itself to the hair, not the skin.
Pros of soft wax: Grabs fine hairs and tends to be cheaper.
Pros of hard wax: Used on smaller areas or it might break, is gentler because it doesn't tug at the skin, the heat opens up the pores making it easier to pull out.
You can do either methods in salons in Malaysia, or on your own at home with a waxing kit (although, it's best to make sure you know what you're doing).

2. Trimming or shaving

Other common methods are trimming with a pair of scissors or shaving. Trimming is self-explanatory and you can do it at home, without booking any appointment.
Shaving can also be done on your own, however, there are some things to take note of:
– It is a painless method but be careful when doing it, to avoid nicks and cuts.
– If your hair is really long, it's better to trim before shaving, as this will dull your blade less quickly and not tug on your skin as much.
– As with shaving anywhere, you may get bumps, razor burn, or ingrown hairs.
– Make sure you use a clean, sharp, and good quality razor to avoid any infections.
3. Laser hair removal

Laser hair removal is a method which uses a laser device to send concentrated light down to the hair follicles to damage them beneath the skin and prevent regrowth. You usually need several sessions for it to damage the hair follicle enough.
This method is meant to remove hair for a longer period of time compared to shaving or waxing. It does cause some discomfort. However, it's said to be a much less painful experience than waxing, for example.
It can be done on any skin tone.

4. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL is a technique that removes hair using light as pulses. Although it seems similar to laser, they use different technology. IPL causes a burst of heat to damage the cells that produce hair.
Unlike laser, not every skin tone is suitable for IPL, as it targets the hair pigment and there needs to be a contrast in colour between your skin tone and hair. This means that it suits lighter skin tones with darker hair colours.

5. Dynamic Pulsed Light (DPL)

DPL is an advanced version of IPL. It removes hair by using a light in a controlled intensity over the root of the hair. It is said that DPL is more effective to remove fine hairs as well, compared to IPL, which only removes coarse hairs and some fine hairs.

6. Electrolysis

Electrolysis is an FDA-approved hair removal method, which uses a device to deliver heat or chemical energy (or a blend of both) through a fine needle inserted into each hair follicle. It damages one hair follicle at a time compared to laser, which damages multiple hair follicles at a time. Once the hair is damaged, it's removed with tweezers.
