Starting next year, commuters will be able to renew their My50 monthly pass digitally through the Touch 'n Go eWallet

The My50 Pass offers unlimited travel for frequent travellers on Rapid KL's LRT, MRT, monorail, BRT, buses, and MRT feeder buses within the Klang Valley for RM50 a month. Since it was introduced in 2019, commuters could only renew their pass at LRT, MRT, monorail, and BRT counters, as well as select bus hubs using their MyKad.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said that My50 monthly pass users will no longer need to use their MyKad for the renewal due to growing concerns that their MyKad could be misplaced, reported the New Straits Times.

In addition to the eWallet integration, Loke revealed that alternative payment options will be introduced next year.

"Once the system integration process is complete, users will be able to use a Touch 'n Go card or access via their smartphone, using a QR code. These are the details we are working on," he said.

Meanwhile, Rapid KL also launched the MyTourist Pass for travellers to explore the city of Kuala Lumpur
