You No Longer Need To Pay With Cash When Using KTMB Services Starting Next Year
This applies to all KTMB networks, including ETS, KTM Intercity, Shuttle Tebrau, and KTM Komuter.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced that it will be introducing a fully cashless ticketing system starting 1 January 2025
Passengers across all KTMB networks, including ETS, KTM Intercity, Shuttle Tebrau, and KTM Komuter, will be required to purchase tickets using credit and debit cards, the KTMB Mobile (KITS) app, or using the Komuter Link card.
Meanwhile, accepted modes of payment at ticket barriers include credit and debit cards, KTM Wallet, the Komuter Link card, Touch 'n Go, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay.
However, KTM Wallet will be available for KTM Komuter services only.
KTMB is currently in a transition period and there are still ticket counters available at stations to facilitate cash transactions until then
During this transition period, KTMB is actively raising awareness about this change through its official social media accounts, the distribution of promotional materials at stations, and announcements made on trains.
Frontline staff will also be available to assist in buying tickets through kiosk machines. Additionally, KTMB is collaborating with local banks at selected stations to help individuals who do not possess debit cards.
