Macau has long been known as a gambling destination, but that doesn't mean you have to spend all your time at the tables.

If you're planning a trip to Macau, here's a list of must-see places to explore:

1. Amble around Coloane Village

Dubbed the "Back Garden of Macau," Coloane Village is a 300-year-old town characterised by its historical buildings and vibrant, exotic houses. The streets are serene and steeped in history, making it feel like a journey through time.

Walking along the riverbank leads to the Chapel of St Francis Xavier. Built in 1928 in Baroque style, its white and creamy yellow façade, oval windows, and bell tower create a picturesque atmosphere, which is perfect for photos.

Nearby, the Coloane Library, also known as Biblioteca, with its sleek Portuguese architectural style, has become a popular sightseeing spot for many tourists to visit. If you enjoy a slower pace, Coloane Fishing Village is an ideal place for a peaceful getaway.

If you have not had the pleasure, add Lord Stow's Bakery to your itinerary. Treat yourself to some buttery Portuguese eggs tarts from this local favourite, nestled in the idyllic village of Coloane. Grab some and head to a scenic promenade to enjoy your meal on a bench while gazing into nearby Zhuhai, just across the coast.

2. Pamper yourself at Macau's integrated resorts

Your vacation is your time, so why not spend it splurging on yourself? Galaxy Macau is a luxurious integrated resort with nine lavish hotels, including Andaz Macau, Banyan Tree Macau, and many more.

After a busy day exploring Macau, retreating to the luxurious suites at any of these hotels feels like returning to a personal oasis. With plush bedding, sophisticated décor, and a fully-equipped bathroom, the rooms are so inviting that you might find it hard to leave!

But with loads to explore and experience in Macau, it would be a total waste to spend all your time in your hotel room.
