TikTok user Ramdeep Osahan uploaded a video of himself cleaning a totally burnt and scorched pan

It showed him sprinkling salt and baking soda on the bottom of the pan, followed by dishwashing soap. After a bit of scrubbing, he applied paper towels on top, and poured white vinegar over it. He then wiped all the gunk off, revealing a super clean pan!

However, many in the comments section claimed that it doesn't work, and pointed out that it may have been swapped with a different pan.

"Take a close look at the placement of the handle, it has been changed or replaced," one user commented.

"How come even the paint has been removed?" another user wondered.

The hack gained even more traction when user @danshaba tested it out on their pan to see if it really works

Known for testing out online hacks, they followed the steps and ended up with a much cleaner pan.

"That's like 99% perfect," they said.

Seeing how well it worked on those pans, I decided to give it a try on one of my own frying pans, which was also blackened at the bottom

As you can see, it looks pretty gross and dirty. Which gave me all the more reason to try out this hack, since washing it normally didn't work. :(

All the ingredients I needed were easily found at home:
- Salt
- Baking soda
- Dishwashing soap
- White vinegar
- Paper towels

After placing my pan on a dishcloth, I was ready to test if this hack was legit or not

I started off by sprinkling salt and baking soda on the bottom of the pan, then pouring dishwashing liquid over it.

Next, I made sure to scrub it all together with a steel wool.

Note: Do not try this on the inside of non-stick/stainless steel pans, as it will leave scratches and damage the pan.

After carefully placing about three paper towels on top of the salt, baking soda, and dishwashing soap mixture, I poured white vinegar on top.

And finally, I removed the paper towels to see the results!

The verdict? It does a great job or removing most of the grime and burnt stains on the bottom!

So remember, with a few household items (and an insane amount of scrubbing) your pans could look like mine. :P
