14-Year-Old Girl Dies From Injuries She Sustained After A Neighbour Tried To Rape Her
She suffered two head injuries in the attack that took place at a bamboo farm.
In an incident that happened earlier this week, on an island off Semporna in Sabah, a 14-year-old girl died after she allegedly fought off a neighbour's attempt to rape her at a bamboo farm
The victim, identified as Armalin Julmin, died after suffering severe blood loss from two head injuries she sustained during the alleged attack that took place at around 2.30pm on 28 November, Wednesday, The Star Online reported today, 2 December.
Armalin was reportedly hit in her head with a hard object during the attempted rape that left her with wounds measuring 13cm and 12cm, reported The Star Online.
According to the English daily's report, the 14-year-old victim is said to be a foreigner.
She was found in a semi-conscious state by her family members and was rushed to a hospital on the mainland a few hours later
She was allowed to go back to her home on Pulau Pondohan Patir on the east coast of Sabah after doctors at the hospital treated her around 6pm on Wednesday.
However, the girl succumbed to her head injuries at her home at 11.30pm the same day.
On Saturday, 1 December, Semporna police Chief Superintendent Peter Umbas confirmed the incident to the Star's weekend edition
Umbas was cited as saying that a suspect, believed to be the victim's neighbour, has been arrested after he turned up at the police station on Thursday, 29 November.
The 29-year-old suspect has been accused of killing Armalin by her family members.
According to the Superintendent Umbas, the 14-year-old victim told her family members that she had been beaten by the suspect, reported the Star Online.

Along with the 29-year-old suspect, two others, the victim's father and an aunt, have been detained to facilitate murder investigations
"We are questioning the relatives and the suspect to ascertain what actually happened," Superintendent Umbas was quoted as saying by The Star Online, adding that police have recovered a machete and a broken stick from the crime scene.
