Two foreign women, who were accused in a viral TikTok video of attempting to abduct a child at a Resorts World Genting theme park, have been detained by the police

Bentong police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar in a statement yesterday, 22 September, said the suspects were detained two days after the boy's father lodged a police report.

In the one-minute-20-second clip posted on TikTok, which has been widely shared on Facebook, the user claims that one of the women grabbed his friend's toddler and tried to walk away with him when they were visiting the Skytropolis indoor theme park.

According to New Straits Times, the women are aged 42 and 50.

Meanwhile, Resorts World Genting has declined to comment as the matter is still under police investigation.

In the incident, the women allegedly approached the TikTok user's friend's wife as she was watching over her son and their belongings while the two men went on one of the rides

He and his friend immediately got down from the ride and rushed to help the wife and son when they noticed the two women approaching them. One of them was said to have grabbed the toddler and attempted to walk away with him.

The user can be heard describing one of them as sporting a white prayer veil, who he claims is from Pakistan, while the other is Indonesian.

He goes on to claim that they needed to seek assistance from security personnel at the casino as there weren't any at the theme park.

The security guards hauled the women out of the park and filed a report on the incident.

The case is being investigated under Section 363/511 of the Penal Code for kidnapping. If found guilty, the suspects are facing a jail term of up to seven years or a fine.
