Terengganu police chief Datuk Rohaimi Md Isa said action was taken against them at Kuala Nerus during an integrated operation under Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), reported Bernama.

The tourism sector compliance operation was conducted on Friday and Saturday, 24 and 25 September.

Rohaimi said two of them had crossed into Terengganu from Kuala Lumpur, two from Selangor, and the other two from Penang and Melaka respectively.

He said such operations will continue to be carried out from time to time to ensure there are no violations of the tourism bubble standard operating procedures (SOPs).

"This is to prevent any increase in transmission of COVID-19 in Terengganu," he said in a statement on Sunday, 26 September.

He said action can be taken against them if they allow tourists from outside Terengganu to stay at their premises for the purposes of travel, as well as if they fail to ensure that all guests are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

In a previous report by Harian Metro, he had warned that police will increase enforcement at all tourist destinations and crowded areas in the state, and has mobilised over 600 police officers from various agencies to conduct regular checks at these locations.

"Following the opening of the tourism sector, we do not want any new clusters, therefore strict control must be done," he said.
