62-Year-Old Perak Royalty Drowns While Diving In Pulau Perhentian

New Straits Times reported that she was on a diving trip at Teluk Dalam Pasir Hantu with her friends at 4.15pm on 23 March.
She had shown her dive mates an 'OK' sign at 15 metres, and continued diving deeper. However, at the depth of 19 metres, her oxygen tank reportedly malfunctioned before she drowned.
One dive mate then went to her aid but to no avail.
The 62-year-old, who was the sister of Johor Permaisuri Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, was declared dead at around 5.15pm on Saturday

According to Sinar Harian, the Perak royalty passed away at the Pulau Perhentian clinic in Besut, Terengganu.
Meanwhile, Raja Halimahton's son, Putera Mohamed Afiq has since urged the public not to speculate on his mother's death.
"On behalf of my late mother, I will be taking over this (Facebook) account. I am Putera Mohamed Afiq, just to inform everybody including my fellow family members and friends, please don't speculate or make assumptions on the diving accident as a police report has been lodged," he said, according to New Straits Times.

Remains of the 62-year-old was taken to the Ubudiah Mosque for the final prayer.
She was then buried at the Kuala Kangsar Royal Mausoleum in Perak at 2.20pm yesterday.
