Eight Malaysians have filed a RM60 million class action lawsuit against the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Malaysian government over alleged deaths and health complications caused by COVID-19 vaccination

According to the New Straits Times, the plaintiffs named 25 defendants.

Among them are WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus; Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim; former prime ministers Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob; Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad; his predecessors, Dr Adham Baba and Khairy Jamaluddin; Pfizer Malaysia; Sinovac Biotech Ltd; and more.

Other defendants named included Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and his predecessor Hamzah Zainudin, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and her predecessor Radzi Jidin, former Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, as well as the former and current inspectors-general of police.

The plaintiffs claimed that they were adversely affected by the Malaysian government's "negligent and erroneous public health policy", which was implemented when WHO declared the pandemic a global health emergency

"[The defendants] made false and misleading suggestions regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, which is actually a man-made bio-weapon created in laboratories and deliberately made to resemble seasonal flu, and subsequently suggested that only 'Toxic Experimental Vaccines' be used to address the 'False Pandemic'.

"All defendants are extremely negligent either by not conducting clinical research and/or proper examinations on the validity of COVID-19 and the safety of 'Toxic Experimental Vaccines'.

"D1 (Muhyiddin) not only accepted the false pandemic without proper investigation and examination but also implemented the Movement Control Order (MCO)," said the plaintiffs in their statement of claim.

The plaintiffs also claimed that the defendants used unfair influence and a lack of full disclosure to secure public consent and acceptance of COVID-19 vaccines

According to FMT, the plaintiffs include a man whose father died after receiving three doses of the vaccine, a man whose wife passed away after receiving three doses, and a cleaning worker who suffered a stroke after receiving two doses.

The fourth plaintiff is a masseuse who experienced serious side effects after one dose and now requires a wheelchair for mobility, while the fifth is a housewife who also suffered serious symptoms after two doses.

The sixth and seventh plaintiffs both claim to have been discriminated against by their employers for refusing to be vaccinated.

The eighth plaintiff is a man whose mother died after developing severe health issues, including respiratory failure and hypoimmunity, following one dose of the vaccine.

Besides seeking RM60 million in general, special, and exemplary damages, the plaintiffs are also seeking a court declaration that COVID-19 is fake and the cancellation of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme

They also want the government to withdraw from being members of WHO and the World Economic Forum.

According to Malaysiakini, the civil action was filed by Messrs Mohamad Zainuddin & Co on 23 October.

The court has fixed 17 February next year for case management.

In addition to battling the COVID-19 pandemic, public health officials had to combat the spread of misinformation:
