A Mum And Her Boyfriend Have Been Charged With Jointly Murdering 3-Year-Old Boy

The victim sustained serious injuries to his abdomen and body.

A 35-year-old mother has been charged with the murder of her three-year-old son. A 34-year-old man was also charged together with her.

Both of them were charged at the Bandar Baru Magistrate's Court in Bangi, Senalgor yesterday, 10 September.

According to the charge sheet, the mother, Ieda Nor Esbi Baharudin, and the man, Norazizol Baharum, are lovers. The couple had a common intention to murder Ieda's son earlier this month.

They |nodded in understanding when the charge was read to them before judge Effandi Nazila Abdullah who acted as a magistrate, reported New Straits Times.

Three-year-old Zaff Zaffrul Zaiful Amiro Shah was murdered at a house in Section 2, Bangi, between 6.30am and 10.41pm on 2 September

Zaff Zaffrul was pronounced dead at a private hospital.

According to Kajang district police chief ACP Mohd Zaid Hassan, the victim sustained serious injuries to his abdomen and body, reported Malaysia Gazette.

Ieda, who is the birth mother of the child, was arrested together with Norazizol last week.

The couple was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 34 of the same law

They face the mandatory death sentence under the law.

The two accused were unrepresented and no bail was offered as it's a non-bailable offence.

The prosecution was handled by deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Hakim Amir Abdul Hamid.

The court set 14 October for mention for submission of the post-mortem and chemist reports.
