According to Nor Hisham, an old DBKL building on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman will be revamped for the project. It will be modified into two blocks – one for men and another for women.
Malay Mail reported that there will be 200 rooms available for rent at RM100 per month by this year. Applications are to be made online.
The rooms will only offer sleeping and bathing facilities
Nor Hisham said that there will be no place for tenants to cook in the rooms, according to Malay Mail.
"When they (tenants) marry, those people will have to move," the mayor added.
Meanwhile, the project proposal is pending discussion with DBKL's board of advisers and the minister.
