#Budget2023: RM102 Million Allocated To Digital Content Fund To Market Creative Works

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz announced that the government will set aside RM50 million for the National Film Production Fund (DEKAN) to support the government's creative industry
During the tabling of Budget 2023 today, 7 October, Zafrul said that the release of patriotic films frequently wins Malaysians' hearts. He went on to say that more films like Leftenan Adnan, Ola Bola, and Mat Kilau should be made.

The government will also allocate RM102 million digital content fund to market artists' products and encourage the creation of more creative and fresh works
To support industry players creating high-quality creative content, contributions from the film community fund and national film development under FINAS will be given tax deductions. The government also agreed to exempt import duty and sales tax on studio equipment and filming productions.
