[BREAKING] 18 Injured, 2 More Trapped In Rubble After Explosion In Kuching Shopping Mall

The explosion is reported to have occurred at City One Megamall in Kuching, Sarawak at about 3.30pm today, 4 December

Photos and videos showing the aftermath of the explosion are currently circulating on social media. The cause of the explosion is believed to be a gas leak.
BorneoPost reported that initial reports from the Fire and Rescue Department indicated that part of the building collapsed due to a gas explosion.
Local portal Sarawak Daily reported that most of the victims have been evacuated from the building, but two others are still trapped in the wreckage
According to Bernama, the fire department confirmed that 18 people were injured in the explosion, adding that some victims suffered burns to their face and arms.
The Malaysian Insight reported that most of the victims are believed to be mall employees and workers renovating a food outlet.

The Fire and Rescue Department were dispatched to the mall after an emergency call was received at 3.37pm. They are currently working on rescuing the trapped victims.
