Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that a Movement Control Order (MCO) will be implemented in Kuala Lumpur from 7 May to 20 May
In a press conference today, 5 May, the minister said that Kuala Lumpur also saw a hike in COVID-19 infections, whereby 17 new clusters were recorded from 1 April to 27 April.
"After reviewing the situation and following a proposal by the Ministry of Health (MOH), the government has agreed to place the entire Kuala Lumpur district under MCO from 7 May to 20 May," he said.
Several districts in Johor, Perak, and Terengganu will also be placed under MCO for the same duration
The localities are Johor Bahru, Kulai, and Kota Tinggi in Johor; Taiping, Larut Matang, and Selama in Perak; and parts of Terengganu's Besut district.
The 14 subdistricts in Besut, Terengganu affected are Kampung Raja, Lubuk Kawah, Pelagat, Tenang, Keluang, Bukit Kenak, Kubang Bemban, Jabi, Kerandang, Pengkalan Nangka, Pasir Akar, Tembila, Bukit Puteri, and Kuala Besut.
