Childcare Worker Arrested For Allegedly Abusing A 2-Year-Old In Viral Video
"I'm upset because the other staff just look at it as if it is a common occurrence," lamented the mother.
A 28-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly physically abusing a two-year-old at a childcare centre in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras
The woman was arrested by a team from Bukit Aman's Sexual, Women, and Child Investigation Division (D11). She is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) Child Act 2001, after the victim's father lodged a police report on Monday, 4 September.
The suspect is believed to be the babysitter at the childcare centre.
According to Majoriti, Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the police officers also discovered two video clips on Facebook, one lasting over a minute, and another at 56 seconds, showing the woman allegedly abusing the child named, Rania.

Prior to the woman's arrest, the child's mother exposed the alleged abuse on social media
According to New Straits Times, Rin Azmin, the victim's mother, posted a video on Facebook, exposing the alleged violence against her daughter.
In the now-deleted post, Rin shared the CCTV footage obtained from the childcare centre.

According to Rin, the suspect claimed that she accidentally bumped into her daughter, causing her to fall and hurt herself
The mother mentioned that she noticed pinch marks on her daughter's cheeks and hands. When Rin's husband inquired about it, the babysitter claimed that it was an accident, reported Majoriti.
Rin then requested to see the CCTV footage, with the intention of finding evidence of her child's fall.
After attempting to delay the process twice, the childcare centre finally showed the CCTV footage to Rin's husband. He discovered that the babysitter had allegedly pinched and slammed Raina's head on the floor.
"I'm upset because the other staff just look at it as if it is a common occurrence" the New Straits Times quoted Rin as saying.
