Malay Mail reported a witness as saying that two people were seen jumping off the building to escape the fire. At least one of them died after falling off the shopping complex.

Both of the deceased were purportedly employees of CentralWorld.

Meanwhile, the 15 people who were injured in the fire have been admitted to Police General Hospital and Ratchavithi Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang said that CentralWorld will be closed pending an investigation into the cause of the fire

"We have to see the impact on the structure and the police will need to go in to investigate," he said, according to Malay Mail.

Nonetheless, patrons are currently allowed to access the parking garage of the mall to retrieve their cars following a statement by CentralWorld earlier today, 11 April.
