On Saturday, 27 February, a viral Facebook post stated that tenants at eCurve were served notice regarding the shopping mall's closure
According to the viral post made by a Facebook page called Malaysia Shopping Mall, the tenants were given a verbal notice about the mall going out of business permanently on 31 March this year.
The claim has since been confirmed
Malay Mail reported that the eCurve management has asked tenants to vacate their lots, with most of the tenants packing in preparation to shift out a week or two before the mall shuts its doors to the public.
The English daily quoted a laundrette owner, Rebecca Chong, saying that some of the shops have chosen to stop operations altogether because they have not been getting customers amidst the pandemic.
"The rest are packing up, like us. We have to reinstate the lot for the mall management before we move out," Chong was quoted as saying by Malay Mail at the mall.
The news about eCurve's permanent closure was also confirmed by an Astro Awani journalist.
eCurve's closure, however, doesn't affect The Curve
eCurve is a separate mall adjacent to The Curve, another shopping mall at the same location.
Both malls, however, are under the same property developer called Boustead Properties Berhad.
