As he delivered his remarks, he struck his chest before extending his right arm at an upward angle — a move that closely mirrored historically fraught imagery. He repeated the action moments later, reinforcing concerns among observers.

While Musk did not explicitly reference any such affiliations, his movements set off alarm bells, with critics pointing to the growing presence of far-right ideology in spaces he has engaged with.

Musk's remarks included a nod to the Trump administration's new federal cost-cutting initiative, where he has been appointed to lead a government efficiency task force.

He also echoed themes from Trump's inaugural address, envisioning American astronauts planting a flag on Mars — a goal SpaceX has long pursued.

"Bam! Bam!" he shouted, mimicking the motion of staking a flag into extraterrestrial soil.

Still, Musk's continued engagement with right-wing figures — including a recent discussion with Alice Weidel, leader of Germany's far-right AfD party — fuels concerns about his alignment with extremist narratives.

Musk has not directly commented on the incident but retweeted footage of his speech, including the contentious salute.
