#Budget2023: Employers Who Hire OKU & Former Inmates To Be Awarded RM750 Per Month

The homeless and unemployed are also included in this incentive.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that employers who hire people with disabilities (OKU), former inmates, the homeless, and the unemployed will be awarded RM750 per month

Anwar made the announcement during the re-tabling of the Supply Bill 2023 at the Dewan Rakyat today, 24 February. Employers can enjoy the incentive for a period of six months.

The premier also announced that RM50 million will be set aside for the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) to give RM400 per month to employers who hire 17,000 fresh graduates. Especially those from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

Employers who hire fresh graduates will receive the incentive for six months.

Additionally, the premier said that RM50 million will also be allocated for the National Dual Training Scheme (SLDN) to provide training to disadvantaged individuals

The scheme hopes to take in 8,000 trainees and equip them with applicable skills to independently earn a meaningful income.
