In a statement, Ong's family expressed their grief and determination to seek the truth.
"Our father — also known as Tony in the USJ resident association community — can no longer speak for himself. And so, we will speak for him," the family said in a statement to SAYS.
"We are simply a grieving family searching for the truth about what happened to our beloved father. We appeal to the public to please come forward with any information that will help."

According to his family, Ong was on his usual route home from work, having stopped at the intersection and waiting for his right of way. As he began to move forward after the signal turned green, a vehicle slammed into him from behind, throwing him off his motorcycle.
He was left critically injured and unconscious on the road before being rushed to the ICU at Shah Alam Hospital, where he fought for his life for several days before succumbing to his injuries.

The family described Ong as a selfless pillar of his community
"He was the first to step up when something needed fixing. He led charity drives for meaningful causes. He volunteered for night patrols to keep families safe. He waded through floodwaters to rescue strangers.
"Whenever he saw a motorist in trouble on the road, he would stop and help — without hesitation, without question. He never turned away when someone was in need," his children said.
"And now, we are asking for the same kindness he showed the world."

They stressed that any information, no matter how small, could be critical.
In addition to offering the RM2,000 reward, the family has also called on authorities to provide traffic sequencing data or any available surveillance footage from the junction to aid in the investigation.
"We are not looking to place blame; we simply want the truth," the family stated, adding, "Ong Guan Lin deserves justice, and the community deserves to know what happened that day."
