Heavy rain this morning has triggered flash floods in parts of Kuala Lumpur, leading to major traffic disruptions throughout the city

Flooded roads were reported in key areas, including Jalan Parlimen heading towards Bukit Aman, Jalan Perak, and Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, with netizens sharing videos of submerged vehicles and impassable routes.

According to FMT, roads around Wisma Bernama and Bank Negara Malaysia have also been severely affected.

Motorists are facing hazardous conditions, with many roads almost impossible to navigate. The flash floods have caused widespread delays, and traffic congestion is expected to worsen as the day progresses.

In a statement, Rapid KL announced that alternative train services were being activated due to water ponding at the Sri Rampai LRT station, affecting the line towards Wangsa Maju

Trains from Putra Heights are turning back at Wangsa Maju, impacting commuters across the network.

Meanwhile, the Dewan Rakyat session, scheduled to begin at 10am, was delayed by 30 minutes as several MPs were stranded in the flood. Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul adjourned the session until 10.30am, citing Meeting Rule 12 (2) to accommodate those affected.
