METMalaysia Warns Of Heavy Rain In KL Until Past Noon As Floods Hit The Capital City
Images of flooded areas in Kuala Lumpur have gone viral on social media.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) has warned the public about thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in Kuala Lumpur, expected to last until 1pm today, 15 October
The capital city has been impacted by floods since this morning, leading to severe traffic congestion as roads were submerged under floodwaters, reported the New Straits Times.
In a Facebook post today, METMalaysia said other than Kuala Lumpur, the heavy downpour is expected to last until 1pm at these locations as well:
– Kedah: Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, and Bandar Baharu
– Penang
– Perak: Kerian, Larut, Matang, Selama, Manjung, and Bagan Datuk
– Pahang: Bentong and Rompin
– Selangor
– Putrajaya
An earlier post warned that heavy rains will also affect the following areas in Selangor: Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang.

The roads around Bulatan Dato On, leading towards Jalan Parlimen, were submerged in muddy floodwaters.
The weather conditions had caused the Dewan Rakyat sitting to be delayed as some members of parliament were stuck in traffic, reported the New Straits Times.
