GISB CEO, Wife, Son, Daughter & 4 Children Of Al-Arqam Founder Arrested In Fresh Raid
The GISB CEO had earlier admitted that there were "one or two" cases of sodomy at its shelters.
In a fresh raid carried out under Op Global, police have arrested the CEO of Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB), along with his wife and two of their children
The arrests, following allegations of abuse, neglect, and sexual misconduct at charity homes run by the company, were confirmed by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
Among the CEO's children arrested are a daughter and a son, aged 37 and 25, respectively.
They are among 19 suspects —12 men and seven women — arrested during a raid at a complex in Bukit Bintang today, 19 September, reported the New Straits Times.
Four children of the late Ashaari Mohammad, the former leader of the banned Al-Arqam sect, were also detained during the raid
"The raid was coordinated and carried out by Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department D8 (special operations), D14 (organised crime), and the special integrated investigation team," he said.
The latest arrests come after police yesterday, 18 September, intercepted five suspects in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, as they attempted to cross into Thailand in a recreational vehicle (RV) displaying the GISB logo.
The five suspects, including the son of a GISB leader, were remanded today, 19 September, for seven days following a court order issued by the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court in Selangor.
"These individuals were remanded to facilitate the investigation into GISB Holdings, which is facing serious allegations. The remand will continue until Wednesday, 25 September," Razarudin confirmed.

While the GISB CEO was not named, Razarudin had earlier stated that the police will investigate a video in which the CEO admitted that there were "one or two" cases of sodomy at its shelters
"I don't want to blame the laws. It's true we have done some wrongs in the eyes of the law but couldn't there be some advice or discussions first?" the CEO said in the video posted on GISB's Facebook page.
While dismissing police allegations that children under GISB's care were sodomised and taught to sodomise others as "disgusting", he admitted that such abuses had occurred at the homes.
"Indeed, there were one or two cases of sodomy, but why lump them all together?" he said.
Following his statement, the IGP said that police would first complete the investigation into the child exploitation before addressing the claims made by the company's leader, as reported by Malay Mail.
