i-City Theme Park Suspends Operations After Falling Floatie Injures Woman
According to a statement, the theme park is offering full refunds to guests who have purchased tickets.
i-City has been ordered to immediately suspend operations of its theme park following a safety incident after a floatie fell from its glass slide attraction and struck a woman
Tourism Selangor has acknowledged the incident at the theme park and assured the public that necessary measures are being taken to ensure visitors' safety.
In a statement, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Local Government and Tourism Dato' Ng Suee Lim emphasised the importance of maintaining the highest safety standards among all tourism operators in the state.
Before the theme park's opening, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) had issued several warning notices and compounds to the operator
Following this incident, the Selangor state government has suspended the theme park's operations until all safety requirements are fully met.
Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin bin Shari stated that the theme park management will be summoned for further discussions on safety protocols.
He stressed that i-City must comply with MBSA's safety regulations before it can reopen.
Efforts will also be strengthened to ensure all theme parks in Selangor adhere to strict safety standards.

The incident occurred on 29 January, when a floatie reportedly fell from the recently-opened glass water slide, Sky City, and struck a visitor walking below
Shah Alam district police chief Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed that the victim was taken to a clinic and, fortunately, did not sustain serious injuries.
