i-City has been ordered to immediately suspend operations of its theme park following a safety incident after a floatie fell from its glass slide attraction and struck a woman

Tourism Selangor has acknowledged the incident at the theme park and assured the public that necessary measures are being taken to ensure visitors' safety.

In a statement, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Local Government and Tourism Dato' Ng Suee Lim emphasised the importance of maintaining the highest safety standards among all tourism operators in the state.

Before the theme park's opening, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) had issued several warning notices and compounds to the operator

Following this incident, the Selangor state government has suspended the theme park's operations until all safety requirements are fully met.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin bin Shari stated that the theme park management will be summoned for further discussions on safety protocols.

He stressed that i-City must comply with MBSA's safety regulations before it can reopen.

Efforts will also be strengthened to ensure all theme parks in Selangor adhere to strict safety standards.
