A father of a bedridden child with cerebral palsy has found ways to include her in adventurous activities that they both love

According to Sinar Harian, Wira Sudepja Rabu, 49, celebrates his 16-year-old daughter, Nur Wadihan's birthday every September by embarking on challenging cycling events.

Nur Wadihan, whom he fondly calls Dihan, was born with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and has been bedridden since she was four months old

Due to her condition, she spent most of her early childhood in the hospital.

However, once her health stabilised, Wira began taking her out for recreational activities with the rest of the family.

"One day, as we passed a cycling group, Dihan laughed. That moment ignited our cycling journey, which eventually included running. It soon became a routine for our family," he said.

Every birthday since she was 6, Wira has brought her to various events, including rides up Bukit Fraser, as well as climbs up Bukit Miku in Negeri Sembilan, Bukit Sungai Como in Terengganu, Gunung Jerai in Kedah, and Bukit Wang Kelian in Perlis.

They even completed a 21km half marathon together.

The father of two added that every week they participate in a community cycling group called Bikeisable, and this marks their 10th year of running and cycling activities together

"I love taking Dihan out just to make her happy. Life is a test, and we all face our own challenges," said Wira.

"I treasure every moment with my blessed child, as I can never be certain of the time we have.

"Our motto is to live not just to exist, but to give my daughter an extraordinary life," he added.
