"Immediately after receiving the message, the employer closed his restaurant and went to a clinic together with 12 other workers to take the COVID-19 swab test," the ACP said in a statement
"The tests confirmed that all were negative for COVID-19.”
Dzulkhairi explained that the restaurant owner had confronted the girl about having sent the fake positive results, reported the New Straits Times.
The girl admitted to falsifying the test result as she did not feel comfortable working at the restaurant and did not want to come in to work.
It is learnt that the girl is a new staff at the restaurant. She just started working there a day before the incident on 5 April.
The case will be investigated under Sections 420 and 468 of the Penal Code for dishonestly inducing delivery of property and forgery for the purpose of cheating
If convicted under the first provision, she could be jailed up to 10 years and slapped with a fine.
As for the second offence, she could be be jailed up to seven years and slapped with a fine upon conviction.
The police has since applied for a remand order for the girl to assist in further investigations.
