K9 Sniffer Doggo Successfully Locates Missing Toddler After 24 Hours Of Disappearance
The two-year-old was lost in a forest for a whole day.
Yesterday, 16 February, K9 sniffer dog Daisy located a boy who went missing in a palm oil plantation for almost 24 hours in Sarawak
According to a Facebook post by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department's K9 Unit, two-year-old boy Mohammad Rayyan Bujang Bin Abdul Qayyam was reported missing at around 2pm on 15 February.
The child was last seen around his hut, next to a quarry in Semantan near Kuching.
When the boy was nowhere to be found, his mother immediately contacted Lundu district police. She began the search for her son with her husband and a few other locals but to no avail.
The search operation later expanded to involve the K9 Unit, a team from the Lundu district police, Civil Defence Force (APM), and a few local residents.

According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department, the boy wandered off alone in the palm oil plantation while he was with his mother
"While she (the boy's mother) was waiting for her husband to arrive, the toddler was playing outside the hut located behind the workers' quarters," Malay Mail quoted the spokesperson as saying yesterday.
He added that the boy was found at around 1pm on the next day, about 2km from the Fire Control Station (PKB) by sniffer dog Daisy and her handler Dominic Bahong.

The operation was brought to a close at 1.45pm shortly after the child was found, where he was brought to the hospital via ambulance for a medical check-up.
