Seri Azlina a.k.a Kim Seri, a Malaysian influencer cum entrepreneur based in Seoul, has blamed "negative reviews" as the cause of financial losses at her namesake restaurant in South Korea, which she claims eventually impacted her now-defunct travel package business

This comes amid recent allegations that she scammed several individuals through her travel agency, with victims reportedly losing nearly RM500,000.

During a live broadcast on TikTok, Kim Seri admitted to poor management and financial missteps but notably pointed to "negative" customer reviews as a major contributor to her restaurant's troubles.

She deflected blame from potential issues with the restaurant itself, such as poor food quality or service standards, which were highlighted in several reviews on her restaurant's Google page.

"Everything started in February. We suffered multiple losses from the restaurant, where customers left various negative reviews. The losses worsened during Ramadan because there were no customers, and they continued into the summer months," she said, explaining that the restaurant's struggles snowballed into financial trouble for her other ventures.

"So, the restaurant suffered significant losses, and we had to bear the burden of monthly shop payments, salaries, very high taxes, and the purchase of raw materials. These problems have heavily affected the business, including the travel package operations," Kim Seri claimed, as reported by Sinar Harian.

After the affected individuals lodged 24 police reports against her, Kim Seri promised to refund their money "within a little over a month"

According to Kim Seri, she plans to use TikTok as a platform to raise funds for the refunds.

"To resolve this problem, I only have one platform, which is TikTok, as the Kim Seri Restaurant has now changed ownership, my travel packages are no longer in operation, and my other businesses have also incurred losses.

"I will fully utilise TikTok to make a living. Starting tomorrow, I will raise money here. I will do live sessions to run a business, and this is the only way for me to earn the money to pay back," she explained.

A check by SAYS showed that Kim Seri has disabled comments on her TikTok account, which has over a million followers.
