Earlier today, 16 April, police secured a seven-day remand order against a man who fired multiple shots at his wife at KLIA Terminal 1

The remand order was obtained at the Kota Bharu Magistrates Court.

Magistrate Rais Imran Hamid issued the remand order under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code, reported the New Straits Times.

He is being investigated under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.

The suspect, Hafizul Hawari, will be remanded until 22 April.

The 38-year-old suspect, clad in purple lock-up attire, was brought to the court complex in Tunjong at about 8.40am this morning.

Several policemen escorted him after he was apprehended yesterday, 15 April, following a nationwide manhunt.

Hafizul briefly greeted reporters at the court complex

According to Berita Harian, Hafizul briefly spoke to reporters, saying he would cooperate with the police investigation.

On Sunday morning, he fired two gunshots at his pregnant wife in the arrival hall. However, the shots fired by the suspect missed the intended target, identified as Farah Md Isa, and instead hit one of the two bodyguards who were guarding the woman.

One of the two bullets fired struck the personal bodyguard in the abdomen, while the other missed the woman. The bodyguard is in critical condition and is currently comatose at Cyberjaya Hospital.
