Malaysian cosmetic entrepreneur, model, and influencer Siew Pui Yi has become the first Southeast Asian to be featured on the front cover of adult magazine Penthouse

Announcing the news on Facebook last week, Siew said she was elated to be featured on the January issue of the US-based men's magazine.

"It feels like a dream. I'm so grateful! I will be the FIRST southeast Asian woman to be on the cover issues (sic). It's my honor to be the pet of the month," she wrote.

"Pet" refers to the model featured in the adult magazine that has been in circulation since 1969 and practises the publication of full frontal nudes.

According to The Star, a PDF version of the magazine featuring Siew is said to have gone viral on social media.

She described the cottage where she took the photos at as "very English" and "vintage".

Siew boasts 16 million followers on Instagram and is said to be involved in pornography, which is accessible via paid subscription on an online platform

In an autobiographical video pinned on her Facebook page, the model said she started posting full nudes online after she was threatened by hackers who got their hands on her private photos.

She said the nude photos of her were taken for her own consumption, but when she sent her laptop to repair in November 2019, the photos were leaked online.

She learnt that her nudes were sold for RM238, and was told to prepare RM18,000 as ransom.

According to her, she prepared the money and went to a petrol station with a police officer, her then boyfriend, and another person.

However, the money was forcefully taken by people on three motorcycles.

The matter became worse as her popularity rose because of the nude photos.

The hackers then demanded another RM50,000.

She contemplated taking her own life at that time, but she decided to take control of the situation

"I don't want to die in others' hands. If I were to die, I'd die on my own (fault)," she said in the 24-minute long video.

"So, that's how things went. I went full nude. That's why I started OnlyFans."

She concluded the video by encouraging other women to avoid following in her footsteps as it is not easy to become a successful nude model.

"If you are not forced to do this, then don't do it," she said.
