Book Retreats recently released its Holiday Relaxation Report, which highlighted the world's top destinations for travellers seeking peace and quiet during their retreats from daily life.

According to the Institute for Economics & Peace, the GPI considers 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators across three critical domains.

These include societal safety and security, ongoing domestic and international conflict, and militarisation.

Malaysia earned a GPI of 1.427 and was recognised as the leading destination in Asia for peace, quiet, and safety.

Iceland topped the list, followed by Ireland, Austria, New Zealand, and Switzerland.

The Global Relaxation Index (GRI) ranks countries based on factors including crowd density, societal safety, natural space preservation, noise and light pollution, and wellness experiences.

Destinations that offer more space, tranquility, and preserved natural areas score higher on the index.
