Man Filmed Cutting Up Jalur Gemilang Flags In Viral Video Has Been Arrested
The man was filmed defacing multiple flags along the pathway of Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
Yesterday, 18 August, a 41-year-old man was arrested by the Dang Wangi police after he was filmed cutting up multiple Jalur Gemilang flags around Kuala Lumpur
According to Malay Mail, the incident was speculated to have occurred at 12.37pm on Wednesday, 17 August, in the area surrounding the Malaysian Tourism Centre (MaTiC) building at Jalan Ampang.
Following a report, police arrested the man yesterday.
Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Noor Dellhan Yahaya said, "The individual was nabbed at 12.30pm to assist an investigation under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief. The suspect will be remanded tomorrow (19 August)."

The man, dressed in a red shirt and blue cap, went viral on TikTok after he was seen snipping up a whole row of Jalur Gemilang flags that were placed along the footpath with a pair of scissors
The man allegedly snapped back at anyone who tried to stop or reprimand him for his actions.
The video sparked outrage amongst netizens who said that they were deeply offended by his actions and said that he was disrespecting their country's flag.
