The decision to terminate Tajuddin's post as the Prasarana chairman was announced by Minister of Finance (MOF) Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz amidst a public outcry over the UMNO politician's recent performance at a press conference following the LRT Kelana Jaya line train collision incident on the night of 24 May.
Minister of Finance (Incorporated) is the parent company of Prasarana.
In a letter dated Wednesday, 26 May, Tengku Zafrul Abdul informed Tajuddin of the termination and thanked him for all his contributions
The letter, which has been sighted by SAYS, has gone viral on Twitter.
The authenticity of the letter has been confirmed by a Ministry of Finance spokesperson.
Tajuddin is also being investigated if he breached COVID-19 standard operating procedures by not wearing a mask under his face shield:
