M'sian Claims Cajun Seasoning Has Pork In It But She Just Didn't Read The Label Carefully

The mistaken woman also tried to point out that many Muslims have accidentally purchased the "non-halal" seasonings.

A TikTok video of a Malaysian woman mistakenly claiming that a cajun seasoning is made with pork meat recently went viral on social media

In the one-minute video, the woman tries to warn other Malaysians to carefully read the labels when purchasing spices at any grocery store.

She then grabs a bottle of cajun seasoning to demonstrate that the product contains pork and is therefore unsafe for Muslims to use.

"If you look at this cajun seasoning, the ingredients contain pork," said the woman in the video.

However, throughout the video, the woman failed to realise that she read the labels incorrectly.

She was reading the 'use on' suggestions, instead of reading the ingredients on the label.

"Another one that I found is this Season All spice. It's also made out of pork," she said.

The woman also explains that she is at the grocery store looking for spices to marinate her chicken, but thankfully, she reads the 'ingredients' of the spice bottles first.

She then claims that all of the brand's spices with orange font on the label are made of pork meat.

"These seasonings [that are made with pork meat] come in orange font. But their herbs are okay," she said.

The concerned shopper also attached Shopee reviews of stores selling these seasonings and said that many Muslims have mistakenly purchased them.
