Najib Razak Admitted To Hospital For Checkup After Experiencing Pain
The former premier previously suffered from superficial ulcers and mild gastritis in 2010.
Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is serving his 12-year prison sentence, has been admitted to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for a medical checkup after experiencing some pain
According to The Straits Times, Najib was admitted at noon on Sunday, 4 September, for a medical checkup but no further details were elaborated.
His special officer Muhamad Mukhlis Maghribi made a statement saying that the former premier was in stable condition and undergoing the "necessary medical treatments". He also thanked the Kajang prison department and HKL for their cooperation and aid.
Najib was reportedly admitted to HKL for unspecified reasons, and no details of the treatments he will undergo have been disclosed.
However, Malay outlet Media Variasi reported that Najib was allegedly admitted to HKL for intestinal bleeding.
Back in 2010, the former prime minister was reportedly hospitalised for superficial ulcers and gastritis.

Najib has been in Kajang Prison for close to a fortnight now
The former prime minister received a 12-year prison sentence along with a RM210 million fine on 23 August, after the Federal Court upheld his corruption conviction in the SRC International case.
He was found guilty of seven charges pertaining to abuse of power, criminal breach of trust, and money laundering.
He was pictured being transported to Kajang prison in a black vehicle after failing to appeal his case.
