"There Shouldn't Be A Deadline" — Netizens React After Unable To Register For PADU
Several X users said that the website experienced heavy traffic.
The first round of registrations for the Central Database Hub (PADU) has ended yesterday, 31 March
While many Malaysians who registered earlier did not encounter any issues with PADU's official website, some expressed dissatisfaction with the system on social media yesterday.
Several X users said that the website experienced heavy traffic, as many Malaysians tried to register their profiles at the last minute.
Upon registering an account, they received a notification on the website stating, "Sorry, registration information cannot be verified. Please call PADU's hotline at 1-800-88-7720 for assistance."

Some Malaysians expressed that there shouldn't be a deadline for such an important platform
"It's strange to set a deadline for registration, especially [when the platform is] for the convenience of the public. People should be free to register whenever, unless you specify that by a certain date, the data will be used for certain decisions," wrote one user.

"In my opinion, PADU's registration should be open at all times and there shouldn't be a deadline. Want to send financial aid or implement targeted subsidies? Just do it.
"Once you've given the aid, people will see it. This will raise awareness among those who haven't registered, so they will finally start registering with the PADU system," said another.

Meanwhile, those who were able to register on the website did not blame PADU for the malfunction and pointed out that the website experienced a high volume of traffic due to those who waited until the last minute.

The Statistics Department said there would be a second cycle for data submission in the future, so those who failed this time can register at a later date
However, according to Malaysiakini, chief statistician Mohd Uzir Mahidin said Malaysians who were unable to update their data with PADU will have their basic information automatically registered to the database instead.
However, he still encouraged Malaysians to sign up.
"In the PADU system, we have data for about 30 million Malaysians. However, this is only their basic data, which we have collected from various agencies. What we need is the 'dynamic' data," said Mohd Uzir.
