You Will Be Instantly Fined RM300 If You Commit Any Of These 6 Traffic Offences During CNY

Drivers who commit certain traffic offences between 29 January to 12 February will be dealt a RM300 fine on the spot

The summonses will be issued on-the-spot as part of the 2019 Ops Selamat (Road Safety Operation), in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations.
According to The Star, the operation will involve the deployment of 13 police officers and 186 rank-and-file policemen to ensure smooth traffic flow and increase road safety in the city.
Police have highlighted six offences which will warrant an on-the-spot RM300 fine

Malay Mail reported Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid listing the following six offences:
- driving in the emergency lane,
- overspeeding,
- using mobile phones,
- cutting queue,
- overtaking on double lines, and
- not obeying traffic lights.
Additionally, two sections of the emergency lane on the PLUS Expressway in Perak will be opened to ease traffic congestion
"The sections are from Simpang Pulai to Gopeng near Simpang Pulai layby between kilometre (KM) 287 to 289.95 and from Slim River towards Sungkai at KM367. 3 (northbound)," said Noor Rashid.
Police personnel will also be deployed to monitor 10 hotspots in Kuala Lumpur
"These hotspots have seen a rise in the number of road accidents, so we will be extra vigilant to bring down the figures this year," said city police commissioner Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim, reported New Straits Times.

The hotspots are located at:
- Jalan Kepong,
- Jalan Cheras,
- Jalan Ipoh,
- MRR2,
- Jalan Tun Razak,
- Jalan Kuching,
- Jalan Ampang,
- Jalan Klang Lama,
- Jalan Duta, and
- Jalan Sungai Besi.
