PDRM Looking To Identify Mother Who Offered Vape To Her 2-Year-Old Son On IG Story

ACP Siti Kamsiah Hassan said that police are trying to identify the woman to save the child.

The police are currently identifying the mother who uploaded an Instagram Story of her two-year-old son being offered a vape mod by an adult who puts it in his mouth

Bukit Aman Sexual, Women, and Child Investigations Division (D11) principal assistant director ACP Siti Kamsiah Hassan told Harian Metro that the police have yet to receive an official police report regarding the case.

However, they are carrying out efforts to identify the owner of the Instagram account.

"We are trying to identify the woman for further investigation and to save the child," she said.

Over the past few days, the clip of the child taking two drags from the electronic device went viral online

In the video, the toddler, who is wearing only diapers, can be seen scrunching up his face and covering his mouth after smoking from the vape mod.

Behind the camera, the mother's voice can be heard saying, "Three times already, what did mummy say?"

Initially, the woman was defensive over her actions and said that she has the right to do whatever she wishes as she is the boy's mother

However, after receiving backlash, the father took to Facebook to apologise and requested that netizens stop sending messages to his wife as it was causing her emotional distress.
