Here is a brief summary of Muhyiddin's Cabinet and how it differs from the former government's Cabinet line-up:
In an unprecedented move, Muhyiddin said his administration will not have a Deputy Prime Minister. Instead, there will be four senior ministers to assist him.
Furthermore, there are five ministries under the Prime Minister's Department, namely:
- Ministry of Parliament and Laws,
- Ministry of Special Functions,
- Ministry of Religious Affairs,
- Ministry of Sabah and Sarawak Affairs, and
- Ministry of Economy.
There are now two ministries that deal with education and the former Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment, and Climate Change (MESTECC) has been broken down into three different ministries.
In the previous administration under Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, there were only 25 ministries, reported The Star. Currently, there are a total of 31 ministries.
